By Bebe Go: Bastes, May Anne M. is a glimpse into Manila's independent music and film scene through the eyes of Mei Bastes, creator of Meiday, a free-for-all independent music festival which showcased local independent acts that ran from 2008 to 2012, and that which also consequently earned her the title of 'Scene Queen'. After living in the city for 10 years, she has decided to leave Manila in November of 2012 for undisclosed reasons. This documentary explores the Manila scene that Mei has decided to leave behind and attempts to figure out the reasons behind her decision. I am currently trying my luck with festivals but I chose to share this film through NoBudge because I believe in it and what it's trying to do. I believe the film will find an audience here. I would like to thank Kentucker Audley for believing in the film and creating this venue for independent filmmakers. If you have the time to check the film out, please do. It would definitely mean a lot to me. And, if you want to share any thoughts or feedback about the film, you can e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Much thanks.
