The first of a new series called Now & Then featuring the first videos filmmakers made when they were kids. We're off to a running start with Kyle Gerardi's first film, "My 8th Grade Anti-Drug Video for Health Class", a knee slapping good time featuring Gerardi and a friend getting into some drug/alcohol hijinks...I'm not sure where the anti drugs part comes in, it seems pretty pro drugs to me. Either way, it demonstrates some true 8th grade genius that had me rolling in the aisles. They try some beer first which obviously leads to more beer obviously leading to acid joints? And just try not to bob your head to the background music. Bet you can't. Refresher course: Kyle Gerardi is the man behind one of our favorite movies of last year, The Game Store, a bitterly funny / potentially offensive short about employees at a video game shop. Also, Gerardi won the 2010 Doritos Super Bowl commercial contest. Got that? His 30 second entry was chosen to air during the game and was ranked by CBS as the #5 Superbowl commercial of all time. There you go, that's some pedigree, quite a filmography he's building. Get on board. *If you have a film on NoBudge & made a funny video/film when you were a kid, send it along.
