Filmmaker & actor Onur Tukel (who we've called a no budge legend) is back with, of all things, a vampire movie. Star of Michael Tully's Septien & director of the should-be cult classic Ding-A-Ling-Less, Tukel replaces the rollicking friendship comedy stylings of his last film, Richard's Wedding, with blood-soaked horror-comedy. Playing the lead in both, Tukel is a hilarious motor-mouth, a ball of jabs, provocateur, but he stays relatable because his irreverence is built up from layers of the neurotic and self-deprecating. Also, Tukel doesn't just exploit the vampire genre for blood and laughs, there's some sharply written development comically touching on themes of commitment and confidence.
