This weekend only, the latest film from the very under appreciated Frank V. Ross. You may remember Frank Ross Week from the early days of NoBudge where I had this to say in July '12:
If you haven’t heard of Frank, it’s because the world isn’t fair. He was one of the first directors considered mumblecore, helped develop + hone the style. His hypernaturalism + minimalist relationship pictures may seem commonplace now but in 2005 no one was making movies like this.
Tiger Tail in Blue is a big step up for Ross. Fellow mumblecore breakout Joe Swanberg named it his top film of 2013 for Esquire. It's available for free through the weekend courtesy of LA Cine Salon, a startup screening series run by Samuel Prime:
