An absurdist art piece erupting from a dystopic sketch show formula offering maximalist satire. Overloaded with every last dissolve, t.v. trope, mixed media clutter that it can get its hands on, creator Danielle Zorbas reflects back to us our never-ending stream of broadcast gibberish we call modern content.
A penetrating comedic voice emerges in Megan Holloway playing several characters and commanding the screen through layers of digital chaos. Playing a deranged woman hosting a cooking show or a street-person dressed in garbage interacting with strangers, she injects a crazed playfulness while shooting holes in genres like cringe-worthy reality shows and maniacal sports fandom.
Never allowing a second to breath or digest, this 40 minute spectacle is relentless over-saturation, an endless, overlapping stream of babble. The result is an impressive bit of post-truth gesticulating, a begrudging whack-a-mole for the weird days we find ourselves in. Directed by Danielle Zorbas. Featuring Megan Holloway, Nicole Dunjay.
