*Online Premiere* A woman tells her boyfriend a story that leads to an awkward confrontation. From London, England, comes “Beer & Coffee,” a low-key account of an incident at a coffee shop that turns into a conversation starter about the rules of flirting, relationship insecurity, and possibly _______ ? (you fill in the blank after watching). The story goes that while getting coffee at a new coffee shop in town, a woman gets hit on by a barista and doesn’t know how to react. Later, she tells the tale to her boyfriend, who tries to hide his discomfort, and then can’t resist going back to the coffee shop to confront management. Presented in two parts, first “Beer” (at a backyard bar patio), then “Coffee” (at the coffee shop), the film is an intriguing case study about small scale social mores that twists into a cringeworthy predicament.
