*Online Premiere* With all his energy, Paul tries to take care of his wife at home. But the inevitability of her decline and the toll it’s already taken, another solution must be considered. From Zurich, Switzerland comes this devastating drama about a couple faced with the ravages of age and illness.
Suffering from an unnamed condition, Doloris is in a catatonic state, unable to move herself, bathe herself, feed herself. As the days wear on with no end in sight, even with the help of an in-home nurse, Paul must reckon with the possibility of moving her permenantly to a nursing home. He can’t stomach the idea so he searches for a sign that she doesn’t want this, even taking her to the motel they first fell in love in hopes of sparking some memory or feeling.
Perhaps one of the saddest movies we’ve ever screened on NoBudge, “Corpus” directed by Flo Linus Baumann, is a stunning achievement, all the more incredible for the fact it was made by a student as a thesis project. Made in 2011 (and nominated for best short by the German Film Academy) it hasn't been released until now. NoBudge is happy to present the film as an Online Premiere. (25 minutes). Directed by Flo Linus Baumann. Starring Herbert Leiser and Delia Dahinden. Cinematography by Sebastian Weber.
