Blane is a bodybuilder who happens to get turned on when his dominatrix empties his wallet. From the filmmaking team responsible for the recent NoBudge selections, “F*ck Bunny,” and “Sundays,” comes another provocative examination of the fetishes, fixations and secrets we live with in our modern world of instant digital communications and niche subcultures. “Pay Pig,” directed by Hunt Beaty, is perhaps the most unpleasant of the bunch, a thoroughly uncomfortable glimpse into the world of paypigs. As Blane struggles to keep up financially through his personal training business, Bodies by Blane, he throws all of his money at Lexi, the dominatrix he’s chosen to humiliate him any way she can. Though she’s involved in similar arrangements with several other men, Blane still desires to meet her in person, eventually deciding to leave his hometown in Ohio to see her in person (a “cash meet”). While the film doesn’t explicitly dive into the complex psychology involved, it certainly serves up challenging questions, and throws the viewer deep into the reality of degrading transactional relationships.
