A promising date goes off the rails when a young man’s food fetish steamrolls the evening. Alexandra Warrick directs “questions (or: peanut butter),” part long form sketch comedy, part body horror character study, about an initially disarming romantic who turns weird fast. The poor woman tricked into having a quick connection, charmed by the man’s knowledgable repartee and ample self-confidence (“the night’s just beginning, my lady”), soon finds out the truth when the fella introduces a game of ‘Three Questions.’ The flirting dies off, replaced by an unsettling revelation about an all-consuming peanut butter kink. Burrowing deep into its own strangeness, the sharp-witted film nails its characters, gives them a quick chemistry, then twists it all up into a gooey, clumpy nightmare. (5 minutes).
