*Online Premiere* Actors rehearse just a little bit, nothing major, while waiting for their director to arrive. “Rehearsal is Cancelled,” directed by Mike Breen, spotlights two fussy actors highly committed to their craft, but a bit lacking in overall awareness. Written by and starring Hayley Huntley and Chris Aguila — both spot-on hilarious — the film needs only one scene to call out the ‘actor’s presence’. It’s a parody on overtrained performers but also a showcase for such. When the director is a no-show, they decide to run lines by themselves. “No acting,” they insist, before launching into what’s clearly acting. Their rapid-fire overlapping banter alternates between feeding each other’s ego and giving notes on the scene. When a loud hip-hop class starts upstairs sending thumping bass into the studio, they’re so lost in the scene they don’t notice. But they’re definitely not acting. [Watch on YouTube]. (11 min).
