*Online Premiere* After their mother's death, six sisters in a rural beach house take an oath to remain silent. Directed by Jaclyn Bethany, “Sunday Tide,” is an expressionistic character study about grief and solitude, while also a visual feast of color, costuming, and production design. We don’t know much about the young women other than that their mother died in the ocean, and now they live together in silence, recluses from the world. They pass their days in quiet: communicating through looks, with little rituals, through pray. Indeed, there are religious overtones throughout, and a sense of waiting, preparing for something unknown. Bethany is steadfast in her vision — somewhere between parable, music video, and experimental drama, it’s filled with lyrical images, bursting with feeling. [Watch on YouTube]. (13 minutes).
