Cut begins with a woman leaving work early, having received some unexpected news about her job. While avoiding the implications, she runs across a how-to book that sparks her imagination, inspires some questionable DIY activity, and eventually leads her to an abrupt realization and a new, not necessarily improved look.
This is a story about numbness, and finding ways to shock yourself out of complacency. Sometimes, you don't feel the impact when a door slams in your face or a good friend punches you in the gut. You find yourself wandering down a dangerous path or doing something a little crazy, and it is only after, when you've survived (hopefully), a bit worse for wear, that you realize that something happened to you and that whatever you just did, you did it to yourself.
