*Click CC for English Subtitles* Nearing her 16th birthday, Maya tries to convince her friends to run away and party with her in a spot they call HQ. Kenz Benmosbah directs “I’m Leaving Tonight,” a coming-of-age snapshot that frames anxious teenage drama within a picturesque French countryside. As the group’s carefree flirtations and dreams of the future float in the air, Maya stands out for her edgy insistence that the friends head to a remote party spot to escape their lives. When no one else seems interested, owing to other responsibilities or preoccupations, Maya’s hostility begins to rise. Benmosbah’s film vividly captures a sense of fleeting youth, a longing for escape, and a wave of unresolved emotions. -KA. Director: Kenz Benmosbah. Cast: Clara Maynard, Matteo Garelli, Clara Poulet.
