After a night out in Miami, a young woman reckons with the dwindling chemistry between herself and her ex-boyfriend. Paula Andrea González-Nasser directs “Limestone,” a relationship study that paints a complicated portrait from an ordinary night out in the city. At a club, the woman reunites with an ex-boyfriend and ends up at his high-rise apartment. As the evening wears on, they toggle back and forth between intimacy and emotional distance. When the man disrupts the flow of the evening with a phone call, the woman considers changing course. González-Nasser’s film is self-assured vignette rendered in subtle mood shifts, a film about the messy aftermath of a particular type of on-and-off relationship, enriched by a magnetic lead performance. -KA.
