A middle-aged man wants to become a world-renowned rapper under the stage name "Wum Dum Dilly Willy X2396YY" but his girlfriend strongly disapproves. Max DeFalco directs “The Consequences of Taking Without Asking,” a close look at the outcomes of a man’s delusional dreams and impulsive choices. In his recent self-produced music video, Michael Taiwan III raps with all his heart. On a small box TV, the music video plays, winds down to its end, and Michael awaits for his girlfriend, Deb, to react. Cigarette in hand, she really doesn’t have much to express besides disappointment. While Deb doubts Michael, and Michael challenges Deb, their argument uncovers a concealed fact about the costly video. Earlier this year, we featured another short by DeFalco, “Anything Helps,” at a NoBudge Live program featuring the same lead, Adam Rosenblatt, playing another charismatic deadbeat. -JM.
