A group of high school seniors try to make it to the beach on one of their final days as teenagers. Michael .T directs “June 22nd,” a day in the life snapshot of a youthful summer afternoon. When Kevin, Mira, Hope, and Dev decide to escape the heat of their east coast town for a day at the beach, the obstacles getting there become more present than the beach itself, including a run-in with a police officer and a confrontation about a quarter pound of weed. With the film’s banter between homies and car ride conversations concerning the realities of young adulthood, Michael .T shows an ability to breathe both angst and comedy into the candid moments of a charismatic ensemble. -Jinho Myung.
