After the death of their mother, a young woman confronts her brother who doesn’t show up to the funeral. Edem Dotse directs “Music To Die To,” a drama on the complexities of grief and the search for healing. Amara attempts to track down Marlon, who is staying with a group of seekers in the woods -- meditating for inner peace, harmony, light, et al. Understandably angry, Amara finds her brother during a group ceremony and insists he leave. But when Marlon doesn’t want to return home, Amara reckons with the limits of her protective instincts. Dotse’s film profoundly digs into the pain of loss, the search for spiritual transcendence, the potency of family memories, and the roles we take on in family units. -KA. Director: Edem Dotse.
