An overseas yogurt company causes a tumultuous rift between two roommates. “God Help Us,” directed by Julius Jefferson, is a piece of experimental horror comedy that accentuates a bizarre roommate conflict. After returning to their apartment to find a huge mess of yogurt cups littering the place and a complete stranger throwing them away, Earnest emails his roommate Albert. Albert, who’s on vacation abroad, replies back seemingly content and unfazed by the disturbance. When Earnest calls Albert’s number, it only connects him to a yogurt company hotline. As their communication progresses, a bizarre connection materializes and the ramifications take their toll on the roommate relationship. Told purely through their email back-and-forth and a frame-by-frame POV, it’s a strange but equally entertaining tale of the events. -JM. Director: Julius Jefferson. Cast: Mark Young, Danny Vincent, Alona Montgomery. DP: Julius Jefferson & Lucas Schroeder. Editor: Julius Jefferson & Lucas Schroeder. Music: Lucas Schroeder.
