A woman struggles to make sense of her daughter’s disappearance. “Lolo,” directed by Owynn Kaye, is a moody experimental thriller with a constantly shifting point of view. The woman, an aspiring musician, sneaks out with her boyfriend (played by NB veteran, Jordan Raf). After her sudden disappearance, her mother begins to fall apart. Soon, a criminal investigator (also played by Raf, a uniquely disorientating twist) arrives with news of a possible abduction. Character and story details become increasingly convoluted by mind games and mutations. Dialogue-free, the film relies on its enigmatic tone, potent visuals, and enveloping score. -JM. Director: Owynn Kaye. Cast: Isabelle Gillette, Tara Buck, Jordan Raf, and Stan Lindes. DP/Producer: Ingrid Sanchez. Producer: Matt Johnson. Production Designer: Prairie Trivuth. Score: Katie McBride.
