A troubled man attempts to see his son. “It Is Well,” directed by Antony Acheampong, is a one-take drama about a desperate father trying to keep it together as he battles inner demons. Anxiously fiddling with a lighter, Koj waits outside a London town house that belongs to his child’s mother. After speaking with his own mother over the phone — who offers a prayer of protection — Koj enters the home and catches up with his son’s caretaker. After seeing the boy upstairs in his room, Koj shifts focus and the film turns on its head.
