Two roommates, Annie and Dan, try to concoct a collab that will be their one-way ticket to fame. Written and directed by Annie Brennen, “Fauxmous: A New, Very Good Web Series,” is a rollicking extravaganza of comedy wordplay and effusive self-praise presented in six short eps. Brennen co-stars along with Dan Leahy, playing two theater kids holed up in an L.A. apartment accomplishing very little other than stroking each other’s egos. Early and often, they propose an official video collaboration but struggle to get past the idea phase, derailed at various times by bursts of song, melodramatic monologues delivered to unsuspecting baristas, or simply falling asleep (which they can accomplish in under a half a second). Brennen and Leahy have amazing chemistry and they fill their series with the most extreme compliments they can muster for one another while being utterly disrespectful and clueless to everyone else around them. An inspired collab indeed. Director: Annie Brennen. Cast: Annie Brennen, Dan Leahy, Nate Contreras, Tanner Le Moine, Nabeel Muscatwalla, Abbi Donovan, TJ Norton, Nick Tiffany. DP/Editor: Avi Kaye. Written by: Annie Brennen. Produced by: Annie Brennen.
