A man finds himself at a sketchy 24 hr dental clinic after having his wallet stolen and his tooth knocked out. “Central Dental,” directed by Lindsay Thomas Robinson, is an exercise in surreal atmosphere building, a noir-ish vignette, darkly clever and carefully composed. After getting mugged in an alley, Lewis discovers a nearby establishment called Central Dental. The receptionist insists that he can get seen by a dentist without payment or health insurance, but the procedure takes an unsettling turn after an anesthetic injection. A simple premise that locks into a fixating series of exchanges that keeps getting stranger until it reaches a breaking point. -KA. Director: Lindsay Thomas Robinson.
