A web series about love and well, love! This riotous parody of dating and relationships finds two young Brooklynites in a familiar rise and fall: the roller coaster of love. From director Tynan DeLong (currently on a mad streak, involved in some of the funniest shorts of 2018, see: "Cornolios", "Once More, With Feeling", "The Matrix", "Beats") “Love is Stinks” brilliantly satirizes rom-com cliches with a fully absurd beating heart. Both on the heels of a breakup, Edo and Bryant meet at a party and with the help of some friends (“you should take her out on a few relationship dates”), they decide to give it a go. But love is never easy, especially after the passion fades. Made as an attempt to set the world record for “Fastest Produced Web Series,” this eight episode arc (presented above as one piece) was filmed entirely in 4 hours. The incredibly funny cast, led by Edy Modica and Brian Fiddyment, get a ton of comic mileage from a constant fast-forward use of skewed slang, overly formal recitations, and just plain incorrect English. The whole thing is one long quotable line. If I was stranded on a desert island, and could only bring 1 web series, this is my selection. Love is stinks truly.
Directed, edited & scored by Tynan DeLong. Starring Edy Modica & Brian Fiddyment. Featuring Francesca D’uva, Eliza Kimberly, Nick Naney & Joe Rumrill. Special appearance by Travis Swinford.
