Two meandering friends ponder their life choices when they meet a corporate buddy for lunch. “Jeanette is the Dog” is an Australian short directed by Pat Mooney — a casual vignette about home ownership and wealth imbalance (and a dog named Jeanette). Standing on a high-rise rooftop making up names for the trees below, two women spot their friend, Peter, rolling an office chair down the sidewalk. They meet up, Peter delivers the chair, and the women gripe about not being able to afford a home. Shot on film, Mooney’s film is a breezy, idiosyncratic glimpse at what goes on inside our heads, and what comes to the surface amongst friends. -KA. Director: Pat Mooney. Cast: Tamara Natt, Hannah Camilleri, Josh Glanc. Director of Photography: Thom Neal. Editor: Mitch Goldberg. Producer: Lucie McMahon.
