Something That Means Nothing (October)
The small apartment of a young woman making a film: laundry piles on the desk chair, tender karaoke in the living room, and a needy cat that makes life worth living. Nande Walters presents “Something That Means Nothing (October),” a vérité look at apartment living, moments alone, and in between. As they vary in aspect ratio and format, self-documented vignettes are strung together and give us a sense of Walters’s mundane day-to-day. Dishes are washed, errands are run, and roommate conversations meander. Simple in its documentary form, and done with an honest feeling of restraint, the film presents candid scenes from a young creative’s every-day. -JM. Writer, Director, Editor: Nande Walters.
