Your Security

A film about romance, scams, and romance scams. The enigmatic “Your Security,” by Elias ZX, finds a young couple communicating in security questions, “what was the name of your first pet?”, “your best friend growing up?” etc. The reason they are doing so may require some digging but it registers as both funny and unsettling. Living in a small apartment filled with trash, they are in love… except maybe something’s not right (“do you agree with the terms and conditions?”), and the further we go along, the more layers start to peel away. It’s a wonderfully odd snapshot that taps into the paranoia of the invading information age, of bots combing through personal details and life events to verify and protect, or to scam and manipulate, depending on your point-of-view. “I love you,” “I love you more.”
