Half-siblings, Tim and Lena, squabble after he detects her disinterest in his long-term family genealogy project. Filmed in New York in the Fall of 2008, "Family Tree" was made as an exercise to test out relationship dynamics for a feature length script, a Thanksgiving film set in Florida that was ultimately abandoned. Completely improvised, the short film stars Timothy Morton and Lena Dunham and features Greta Gerwig.
