In this morbid yet poetic look at the moments after death, the world keeps moving beyond the last breaths of a series of individuals. Aaron Salazar directs “Still Life," a beautifully framed exploration of life and death filled with striking landscapes littered with lifeless bodies. Wheels keep spinning on the cars and skateboards that led to the fatal wounds; a horse keeps grazing after the cowboy takes a deathly tumble; the radio keeps playing in the car of the recently overdosed man. With its elegiac classical music, it’s a film that implies despair or vulnerability in tableaus detailed with evidence of suicide, accident, vice or war. -KA. Written, Directed, Produced, Edited, And Colored By Aaron Salazar. Produced By Jena Salazar-Dailey, Thomas Veliotis, Daniel April. Photography By Dustin Lane. Sound By Aidan Salazar. Credits By Ellie Anne Barnhart.
