A group of teenagers from the UK fall desperately in love with the same person. “True Love,” by Jess Dadds and Sam Giles, is a Super-8 snapshot of early entanglements with infatuation, a love letter to a collective feeling. Shown as a step-printed sequence of images, we see the friends lounging at the park as they argue over what kind of drink their crush would be (either a cream soda or a Lipton ice tea), how they would take her out on a date, and anything else worth speculating about. With its youthful visual aesthetic, the film is a spirited reflection on love and camaraderie. -JM. Directors: Jess Dadds & Sam Giles. Cast: Harley Archer, Charlotte Turner, Finn Collins, Lily Jenkins, Harrison Horn, Dylan Rayment. Edited by Ben Matthews. Music by Pye Corner Audio.
