A woman tries to convince her boyfriend to speak openly about his sexual fantasies. Erin Murray directs “I Don’t Need to Know,” a four minute conversation between an LA couple that quickly escalates with a simple question, ‘what kind of porn do you watch?’ After a large house-plant haul, the couple heads back to the parking lot to eat some lunch in the car. There, the girlfriend, played by Murray herself, is sparked by a genuine curiosity and begs the question to her boyfriend, played by Al Warren. The conversation, cut to the rhythm of a bouncy electronic score, notices the wall quickly thrown up by a man who’s insecure, or embarrassed, of his sexual fantasies. Handled with comedy and a kinetic back and forth edit, Murray nestles a true, and uncomfortable, dialogue into a hilariously engaging on-screen moment. -Jinho Myung.
