Tender
Drama, Short Films, 29-Oct-2019
A boy seeks retribution after being attacked. “Tender,” directed by Anthony Lucido, is a study of an isolated young man living with an unwell mother, spurned by his peers and neighbors for his large gangly appearance and mental issues. One day walking home from school, he’s attacked. Later, some neighborhood kids treat him like some sort of half-human: “What are you?…What do you eat?” The painful scenes mount up, and the boy is offered no help, left to his own devices to react to a cruel world. It’s a brutal portrait, and the filmmaking reaches an impressive level of raw, chaotic energy to match. Directed by Anthony Lucido. Cast: Gabriel Lucido, Mary-Ann Lucido.
