The Sound and the Fury

After the sound guy cancels, Garry, an aspiring filmmaker asks his roommate to fill in last minute. “The Sound and the Fury,” directed by Linas Phillips and Lisa DeLarios, is a lighthearted satire of a no-budget film production being helmed by a man wearing a top-bun and a vest over his t-shirt. The director/actor, played by Phillips, is desperate enough to accept the help of his stoned roommate, a flighty but upbeat woman who knows nothing about movies or sound technology but is more than willing to help. The scene at hand is one where Garry, a man in his mid 40’s, gets intimate with a woman in her 20’s. The new sound person can’t help but weigh in on the scene. DeLarios, playing the fill-on, finds a nice comedic balance: a disruptive presence but also the voice of reason. -KA.
